FTC Sends Refunds to People Charged for "Free" Credit Scores
The FTC, State of Illinois, and State of Ohio sued One Technologies, a company that offered "free" credit scores through at least 50 websites, including FreeScore360.com, FreeScoreOnline.com and ScoreSense.com. According to the FTC and our state partners, when people used these sites to access their credit scores, they were enrolled in credit monitoring programs and charged monthly fees — without their consent. To settle the lawsuit, the company agreed to pay money to provide partial refunds.
The FTC sent refund checks ranging from $90 to $150. If you receive a check, you have 60 days to cash it.
