FTC sends payments to eligible people who worked for Handy
The FTC is sending 62,893 checks totaling more than $2.7 million to eligible people who worked for Handy Technologies sometime between January 2019 and November 2024. Handy is a gig platform owned by Angi Services.
According to the FTC and New York Attorney General, Handy made deceptive claims about how much money workers on its platform could earn and failed to clearly disclose and explain certain fees and fines, such as charging gig workers for incomplete jobs if a customer didn’t properly cancel or let them do the work.
If you got a check, please cash it within 90 days.
