Work-life programs are important services offered by the Federal Trade Commission to its staff.

Employee Wellness

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is committed to helping Federal agencies integrate prevention strategies into their workplace. The leading causes of death and disability in the United States are not only preventable, but are also responsive to workplace interventions. Worksite health and wellness programs help employees modify their lifestyles and move toward an optimal state of wellness.

Employee Assistance Program

The EAP is a confidential service available to help employees and their dependents with their well-being. By providing counseling and referrals, the EAP can provide resources to cope with a wide range of difficult issues.


Federal Occupational Health’s WorkLife4You program offers comprehensive work and life services to employees and their immediate family members. The program assists FTC employees with managing daily responsibilities so that they can be more focused and productive at home and at work. 

Elder Care Services

The Federal Government offers a wide array of workplace flexibilities and work-life programs that can be combined to provide employees with time off for elder caregiving needs.

The FTC Telework Program

The FTC telework policy permits eligible employees of the agency to participate in telework to the maximum extent possible without diminished employee performance. This policy provides a framework for the management, operation, and evaluation of the FTC’s telework program, recognizing that telework offers benefits for employees, the FTC, and the community, including better recruitment and retention, increased productivity, improved preparation for emergencies, reduced traffic congestion, and improved air quality.

FTC Staff have a wide variety of leave-related benefits available to them to help balance their work and family obligations. These programs are available so that employees can be at their best, whether at work or at home. Our leave programs include:
