Event Description

The Federal Trade Commission, the offices of the Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut Attorneys General, legal services attorneys and other consumer advocates, and state and federal consumer protection officials from those states met to discuss issues facing consumers today. Topics included foreclosure issues, debt settlement, debt collection, local consumer issues, affiliate marketing, imposter scams, and consumer education. Conference participants discussed experiences and challenges and considered how their groups can better work together and share information and resources in the future.
