  • Applications for approval of transactions:

The FTC has received an application for approval of a transaction from the following: Precision Castparts Corp. The FTC is seeking public comments on the application for 30 days, until January 18, 2000.  

Precision Castparts Corp. proposes the divestiture through its subsidiary (and co-respondent) Wyman-Gordon Company, of its Albany facility to McLad Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ladish Co., Inc. The Albany facility comprises assets located at 150 Queen Street, SW, Albany, Oregon 97321, including those used in the development, manufacture and sale of aerospace investment cast components. The respondent has also requested that the public comment period regarding this transaction either be shortened from 30 days to 10 days or eliminated. If the Commission determines to shorten or eliminate the comment period as requested by Precision Castparts Corp., the comment period will end earlier than the date listed above.

  • Consent agreements given final approval:

Following a public comment period, the Commission has made final a consent agreement with the following entity: Castrol North America, Inc. The Commission action makes the consent order binding on the respondent.  

The Commission vote to finalize the consent agreement was 4-0, with Commissioner Thomas B. Leary not participating. (FTC File No. 972-3209; staff contact is Michael Dershowitz, 202-326-3158; see press release dated September 15, 1999.)  

Following a public comment period, the Commission has made final a consent agreement with the following entity: Physicians Formula Cosmetics, Inc. The Commission action makes the consent order binding on the respondent.  

The Commission vote to finalize the consent agreement was 4-0, with Commissioner Thomas B. Leary not participating. (FTC File No. 992-3158; staff contact is Kent Howerton, 202-326-3013; see press release dated September 13, 1999.)
