Statement of Chairman Deborah Platt Majoras on Commissioner Mozelle W. Thompson

During his six-and-a-half year term at the Federal Trade Commission, Mozelle Thompson has worked to benefit consumers across the United States and around the world. From the beginning of his tenure, he recognized the importance of protecting consumers on a global level. His work with international organizations, including the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the International Consumer Protection Enforcement Network, helped to strengthen privacy laws and enforcement against cross-border fraud. With his passion, patience and diplomacy, he contributed to meaningful achievements in international cooperation.

I am grateful for the contributions Commissioner Thompson has made to the FTC, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
