The FTC's Satellite Building, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) building, is located at 441 G Street NW, Washington, DC  20548.

Metro Directions

Metro Rail:

The closest Metro stations are Judiciary Square (Red Line) and Gallery Place–Chinatown (Red, Yellow, Green Lines). Both are within a short walk to GAO.

Metrobus:

Several bus lines operate along G Street NW and the surrounding blocks. Check current WMATA schedules for the D‑series and X‑series buses that run near Judiciary Square and Chinatown.

MARC & Amtrak:

Arrive at Union Station, then transfer to the Red Line toward Shady Grove and exit at Judiciary Square. From there, it is a short walk west on G Street.

Virginia Railway Express (VRE):

  • Board a VRE train on the Manassas or Fredericksburg line heading northbound towards Washington, DC. VRE operates Mondays through Fridays.
  • Arrive at L’Enfant Station, located at 6th & 7th St SW at C St. From L’Enfant Station to the GAO building:
  • Option 1: Metro
    • Walk ±3 minutes to L’Enfant Plaza Metrorail Station.
    • Take the Yellow or Green line north to Gallery Place-Chinatown.
    • Transfer to the Red Line towards Glenmont and travel one stop to Judiciary Square.
    • Exit and walk northwest on G St (~3 minutes) to 441 G St NW.
  • Option 2: Walk directly
    • Head north on 7th St SW toward D St NW.
    • Turn left on D St, then right on 6th St NW.
    • Turn left on G St NW and walk one block to GAO.
    • Total walk: ~½ mile, approximately 10–12 minutes.

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

By Metro:

  1. Take the Yellow Line toward Greenbelt or Mt. Vernon Square (north bound).
  2. Transfer at Gallery Place (or walk if preferred). GAO is a short walk north‑west along G Street NW.

By Car or Taxi:

  1. Exit the airport toward Washington.
  2. Take the George Washington Memorial Parkway North.
  3. Merge onto I‑395 North toward Washington.
  4. Take the exit for U.S. Capitol / D Street NW.
  5. Continue toward Judiciary Square and follow signs to G Street NW.
  6. The GAO building will be on your left.

From Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI)

By Car or Taxi:

  1. Follow I‑195 W to MD‑295 South toward Washington.
  2. Merge onto DC‑295, then follow signs to I‑695 / I‑395.
  3. Take the exit toward U.S. Capitol / D Street NW.
  4. Turn onto G Street NW and continue to 441 G Street.

By MARC or Amtrak:

  1. Take the BWI Airport shuttle to the BWI Rail Station.
  2. Board MARC or Amtrak to Union Station.
  3. Transfer to the Red Line to Judiciary Square.
  4. Walk west on G Street to the GAO building.

From Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

By Car or Taxi:

  1. Take Dulles Access Road east to I‑66 East.
  2. Follow signs to I‑395 North.
  3. Take the exit for U.S. Capitol / D Street NW.
  4. Turn onto G Street NW and continue to the GAO building.

By Metro:

  1. Take the Silver Line from Dulles toward Largo Town Center.
  2. Transfer at Metro Center to the Red Line toward Glenmont.
  3. Exit at Judiciary Square.
  4. Walk a few blocks west to the GAO building.
