Biography

J. Reilly Dolan is the Former Acting Director for the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection. Prior to his current position, Mr. Dolan has been the Acting Deputy Director for 2 ½ years. Previously he was the Associate Director for Financial Practices, where he was responsible for leading the Bureau of Consumer Protection’s mission to protect consumers from unfair and deceptive practices by financial service providers, including debt collectors, credit card marketers, non-bank lenders, providers of mortgage assistance relief and debt relief services, payment processors, and auto dealers. Mr. Dolan also has served as an Assistant Director in the Divisions of Financial Practices and Enforcement, obtaining significant experience enforcing the FTC Act, other rules and statutes, and administrative and federal court orders against unfair and deceptive practices in connection with the sale of dietary supplements and weight loss products, credit-related products and services, and telemarketing fraud.
