Michael Wroblewski has been named Advocacy Coordinator for the Federal Trade Commission. In that role, Wroblewski will oversee the FTC's program for providing comments, where requested, on consumer protection and competition issues that arise in the context of other federal, state, and local government activity.

Wroblewski comes to the Commission from the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. In the private sector, he was extensively involved in competition issues relating to telecommunications. He represented clients before the Federal Communications Commission in various common carrier, wireless, satellite, and broadcast regulatory proceedings, including implementation of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, and broadcast and cable asset acquisition transactions. Wroblewski also developed and implemented legislative strategy in the telecommunications arena, both while at Latham & Watkins and at Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard McPherson & Hand, where he was an associate from 1992-1995.

Wroblewski attended Loyola College, receiving his B.S., B.B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Finance and Computer Science. In 1992, Wroblewski received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, and a Masters in Public Affairs from the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs. Among other accomplishments, Wroblewski was a finisher of the Hawaii IRONMAN Triathlon World Championship in 1990-1993.
