Robocalls: Humanity Strikes Back

Registration

To register to participate in Robocalls: Humanity Strikes Back, every contestant, including all members of a team, must sign a Registration Form and submit it to Contests@robocall.ftc.gov. If entering as a team, the team representative must submit all team members’ Registration Forms via one email. The email used must match the email address provided on the Registration Form (or in the case of a team, the team representative’s Form). Registration Forms are due by 7:00 p.m. P.T. on June 15, 2015.

Submission

Contestants must submit the following components of their submission via email:

  1. solution source code
  2. any written explanations required for a specific phase (see Section 7 of the Official Rules)
  3. a brief text description of how the solution functions
  4. a link to a video demonstrating how the solution works
  5. any other materials required to test the solution that can be submitted via email (see Section 4 of the Official Rules for more information)

Contestants must submit all of these components in one email to Contests@robocall.ftc.gov and use the email address that they provided on their Registration Form (or in the case of a team, the email address in the team representative’s Form). With the exception of the email address, the submission must not contain any information identifying the contestant’s identity, such as name, address, employment information, or other identifying details.

For any materials or equipment necessary to test a solution that cannot be submitted via email, Contestants must mail these items to Patricia Hsue at 600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Mail Stop CC-8528, Washington D.C. 20580. All items must be received by the Submission deadline and delivered via FedEx or UPS. If contestants need assistance with shipping, please contact RobocallContest@ftc.gov by 7:00 pm P.T. on Monday, June 8, 2015 to ensure you receive the assistance required in order to meet the Submission deadline. Submissions are due by 7:00 pm P.T. on June 15, 2015.

Any equipment or material mailed to the FTC as part of a Contestant’s submission will be returned to the respective Contestant at the conclusion of the Contest. The FTC is not liable for any losses or damages that result from shipment.
