Event Description

As part of the VA Privacy Service’s Privacy in Action Speaker Series, speakers from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the FTC discuss how to protect your privacy online, including when using social media, browsing, shopping, and handling personal finances. We’ll discuss signs of risky websites and offers, spotting suspicious account activity, reporting and recovering from identity theft, and protecting VA benefits, like those provided by the PACT Act. Everyone is welcome, with information for VA staff and contractors, veterans, and active duty service members too. Join us using this link. Non-VA employees, please click “Continue as Guest.”

FTC Privacy Policy

Under the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) or other laws, we may be required to disclose to outside organizations the information you provide when you pre-register for events that require registration. The Commission will consider all timely and responsive public comments, whether filed in paper or electronic form, and as a matter of discretion, we make every effort to remove home contact information for individuals from the public comments before posting them on the FTC website.
