(Join Consumer Sentinel)

Welcome to Consumer Sentinel!! Consumer Sentinel, the unique investigative cyber tool that allows its law enforcement members secure, online access to millions of consumer complaints dealing with internet, telemarketing and other types of distant selling fraud, identity theft, and Do Not Call violations.

Consumer Sentinel is based on the premise that sharing information can make law enforcement even more effective. A joint project, Consumer Sentinel's public and private partners include the Federal Trade Commission, the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), Canada's Phonebusters, the United States Postal Inspection Service, many local Better Business Bureaus, the National Fraud Information Center, and thousands of other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in the U.S., Canada and Australia.

There’s a new Sentinel on the beat…stay tuned for the NEW and IMPROVED System!!! Consumer Sentinel is undergoing a major overhaul. Starting in June 2008, Sentinel will be powered by an enhanced search engine and user interface, making it easier than ever to find the information that you need. In addition to the new tools, the system will have a spiffy new look and feel, and will incorporate new data access and security features. Want to know more about the new system? Click here to see what the new system will look like, to see an example of how search results will be displayed, and to see a copy of the new confidentiality and security agreement (which every member will have to sign before being given access to the new system). If you still want to know more, or would like to receive a registration package, please send an e-mail to sentinel@ftc.gov. See you in June!

Consumer Sentinel is free and available to any federal, state or local law enforcement agency. Find out more about becoming a Sentinel member.
