REPORT OF THE AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION SECTION OF ANTITRUST LAW SPECIAL COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE ROLE OF THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION (1989), reprinted in 59 ANTITRUST L.J. 43 (1989).  As noted above, this is a second ABA retrospective on the work of the FTC.  As with the 1969 Report, this Committee was chaired by Miles W. Kirkpatrick, now a former FTC Chairman.  Its eighteen members included four past and future FTC Chairs.

ROBERT MACKAY, JAMES C. MILLER III, AND BRUCE YANDLE, EDS., PUBLIC CHOICE AND REGULATION, A VIEW FROM INSIDE THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION (1987).  Miller was FTC Chairman from 1981 to 1985, and headed the Office of Management and Budget from 1985 to 1988.

JAMES C. MILLER, THE ECONOMIST AS REFORMER, REVAMPING THE FTC, 1981-1985 (1989).

MICHAEL PERTSCHUK, REVOLT AGAINST REGULATION:  THE RISE AND PAUSE OF THE CONSUMER MOVEMENT (1983).  As noted above, Pertschuk was FTC Chairman from 1977 to 1981, and he remained a Commissioner through 1984.  He had previously served as chief counsel and staff director to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation from 1965 to 1976.

Terry Calvani.  Calvani was a Commissioner from 1983 to 1990, and Acting Chairman from 1985-1986.  In addition to work in academia and the private sector, he has also been a Member (of the board) of the Irish Competition Authority and Director of the Criminal Cartels Division. (Interview conducted in 2007).
