The Federal Trade Commission testified today before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation regarding Privacy Online: Fair Information Practices in the Electronic Marketplace, a report the FTC issued on Monday.

Chairman Robert Pitofsky presented the views of the Commission; Commissioners Sheila F. Anthony, Mozelle W. Thompson, Orson Swindle and Thomas B. Leary presented their individual views of the report to the Committee.

The Commission vote to authorize the release of the testimony and submit a copy for inclusion in the formal record was 5-0.
