High Pressure Home-Based Business Opportunity Sellers Pay $22,000 Civil Penalty to Settle FTC Charges
Two companies and their principals that the Federal Trade Commission alleged used high-pressure sales tactics to sell various home-based business opportunities have agreed to settle FTC charges that they made false and unsubstantiated earnings claims to entice consumers to buy their products and violated the FTC's Cooling-Off Rule, which gives consumers three days to cancel certain purchases of $25 or more.
