D. Michael Chappell Appointed FTC Administrative Law Judge

D. Michael "Mike" Chappell has been appointed an Administrative Law Judge for the Federal Trade Commission.

Chappell has been an attorney with Southwestern Bell Telephone and Southwestern Bell Wireless, of SBC Communications, Inc. since 1992, where he specialized in litigation and regulatory practice.

Prior to his employment with Southwestern Bell, he specialized in litigation with a law firm in Houston, Texas, from 1988 to 1992, and previously served as a prosecutor with the United States Army Judge Advocate General Corps, from 1985 to 1988.

Chappell, a native of Woodlawn, Virginia, received a BBA, Cum Laude, from the University of Texas at Austin and a JD from the University of Houston Law School. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Texas Bar, and serves in the United States Army Reserve JAG Corps.

Chappell's appointment is effective immediately.
