    Sky Chefs Modifies Purchase of In-flight Catering Competitor to Resolve FTC Antitrust Concerns
    The Federal Trade Commission announced today that Sky Chefs, Inc., one of the largest providers of in-flight food services to the airline industry, will not acquire Ogden Corporation's in-flight catering operation at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, in response to the agency's concern that the acquisition would eliminate competition because Sky Chefs would become the only caterer at that airport.

    TrendMark International, Inc., a Memphis, Tennessee company, and its owners, have agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they made a host of unsubstantiated weight loss and health-related claims about their "THIN-THIN" Diet™ program. The THIN-THIN Diet™ is a combination of two weight loss products -- NEURO-THIN™ and LIPO-THIN™ -- that purportedly cause weight loss.

    Fort Wayne Telemarketing Company Admits Law Violations; Firm's President Banned from Advertising Sales and Publishing
    Image Sales & Consultants, Inc., a Fort Wayne, Indiana-based company, and its president, Michael Dague, have agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges stemming from their role in "Operation False Alarm," a joint federal/state law enforcement campaign targeting unscrupulous telemarketers that prey upon small businesses, requesting that the business purchase advertisements in publications with child safety or other civic-purpose themes. In most cases, according to the FTC, the publications for which the ads were solicited were never distributed in the business's community as claimed, so that the business failed to get the promised advertising benefit.
