To whom it may concern, Pet Medication Issues are somewhat complex as it affects many species of animals. Therefore, veterinarians (people who have devoted a great deal of time to practising the art and science of how best to care for the different species of animals) are the best profession to assure the best quality control measures. It is safe to say that quality control of treatments of pets will deteriorate if given to any other profession. Tt may be more cost effective to distribute medications through low cost high volume retailers, but the safety and effectiveness of pet medicaiton treatments would be compromised. Therefore, it is short sighted for the consumer to just have low price as the main objective. It is imparative that if veterinarians are to give prescriptions to consumers to be filled at other retailers that the veterinarians are allowed to charge for such work. Writing and administrating prescriptions takes time, so charging for that time is necessary if the practise if to be sustainable. The FDA must be vigerous in its licensing procedures of pet products and enforcements against counterfits or the consumer will be vonerable regardless of the channel of distribution. Thank you for listening.
