I do not believe that we need further regulation in this area. I, and every vet at my practice, always provide written prescriptions when necessary and upon request. We generally give our price estimates first, and this is an important source of revenue for us. Veterinary practices are businesses too and further regulation will make the business side of practice more difficult, and it should be noted that a loss of revenue in one area will lead to the need to increase prices elsewhere. The public knows that if they want a written prescription they can ask. Not to mention that our government does not have the funds for additional expenses to fund changes, so until we balance the budget let's not spend more money we don't have. Thanks.
