Request for Comments and Announcement of Workshop on Pet Medications Issues, Project No. P121201
As a veterinarian of 25 years in public practice, I do believe in fair trade. The policy of allowing pharmacies to fill animal prescriptions will greatly damage the quality of care we currently are able to provide our patients. We have had to fight to get correct medicines and doses to our pets from some pharmacies. Due to greed of the pharmacy world and large box stores, the care of pets will be damaged. The best way to see which profession is only after the money is to look in the parking lot. What car does your veterinarian drive What car does your Pharmist drive It is time America stands up for what is ethically right and not for what is best for the greedy. Pets are provided with the cheapest and best quality health care compared to the human side of medicine. The more middle people that are involved in health care the more expensive and less quality we are provided. Health insurance and pharmacies have driven human health care costs up. As an American, I am frustrated with wealthy people changing a system that is working much better than our human health system. Stupid and blind is the person that thinks this will save pet owners money. This is going to increase the cost of pet care by 20% and cause many pet deaths.
