Please bring Trader Joe's to Portland, Maine. I can't count the number of times I've been walking with my "Trader Joes" reuseable bag and someone will ask me if the store has come to Portland. The reaction is always the same. People tell me how much they love the store and how much they wish it would come to Portland. The reason I believe TJ's has such a loyal following is due to the high quality of their food. Because they cut out the middle man and carry their own food line, they can offer fair prices for quality food. With the amount of overweight and unhealthy children in Portland, I believe Trader Joe's will provide a healthy alterative for those on a fixed income. The old "Wild Oats" building is the perfect spot. It's centrally located right off 295 and on the bus line. I am one of the Mainers who drive to Trader Joe's in Mass. and everytime I go I always have people who ask me to pick them up a list of items, or organize a shopping trip to Boston specifically to go to TJ's. Let's keep that money in Portland, Maine!
