16 CFR Part 610 Amendments to Rule to Prevent Deceptive Marketing of Credit Reports and to Ensure Access to Free Annual File Disclosures
US citizens should be able, without hassle or bombardment, and without having to drill down endlessly on the Credit Bureaus websites, to: 1. Request a full and comprehensive report the Bureaus have on file for them. 2. Secure their current Credit Score. 3. Be provided the ability to call a living human being to discuss discrepancies (if any) about information contained in a Credit Report. Currently the only why to get any response from the Credit Bureaus is to sign up and purchase one of their packages. The Credit Bureaus makes a lot of money collecting and selling information about consumers. This information needs to be readily available to the very consumers who in reality own the information.
