16 CFR Part 610 Amendments to Rule to Prevent Deceptive Marketing of Credit Reports and to Ensure Access to Free Annual File Disclosures
I've got to say, FreeCreditReport.com got me once, but never will again. Like every other person who has fell for it, I went on the website entered my information, then it asked for my credit card info. It said that there would be no charge (So why in the hell would they want your CC info). So I put it in, and 2-3 weeks later I have a charge from them. Immediately, I called and disputed it for about an hour and they eventually gave me a refund. It's just wrong that they do this to the public. I mean, let's put it into perspective. If 100 people use this, how many of them do you think actually put up a fight to get their money refunded, probably only 20-30%. Now, multiply that 100 by 1000's and they are making a lot of money by deceiving consumers across the country and that is just plain SAD.
