Ideally, the annualcreditreport.com website should furnish the annual credit file disclosure reports itself, not simply provide links to the credit bureau's websites. On annualcreditreport.com, advertising should not be visible in any way, shape, or form. The advertising I have seen has been designed to specifically confuse, manipulate, and distract the user, and impair their ability to access their report for free. Should it be necessary to utilize bureau websites, it must be made clear that the free annual report has already been selected by the annualcreditreport.com user. It should not be in any way possible to spend any money while intending to access one's free annual credit file disclosure through annualcreditreport.com. There should be no "choice", "product selection", "order form", or other obstruction to the free credit report on the bureau website. The credit report should be promptly presented upon login, without delay and without any entry, selection, click, or indication from the user - accessing the bureau website from annualcreditreport.com should communicate to the bureau website that the user has accessed the site specifically for their free annual credit file disclosure, and no other transaction nor the indication thereof should be allowed. The bureaus should be disallowed from the sale of any product or service in relation to furnishing the required free credit file disclosure.
