From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
There is absolutely no reason for the government to "bail out" the press! If the traditional media is not economically viable because of the advent of the Internet, then too bad. We must move on as we did when the buggy whip makers were put out of business by the automobile manufacturers. I personally prefer reading a morning paper with my coffee, but I'm not willing to spend $1.00 per issue to do so. I listen to the cable news, radio talkshows and look at the Internet. There is NO REASON to prop up the "mainstream media". No one props up my business in hard times. Why should we prop up others. American is still (but just barely) a capitalist society. Ted Knight
