From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
To whom it may concern: It's not clear from the summary of the meeting exactly what the purpose of this meeting is and so it's not clear to me why the FTC even thinks it has any jurisdiction to call such a meeting. However, if the subject is really "the future of journalism", I have to object to the FTC even calling the meeting. If the subject is more properly " the future of print news media", then perhaps the FTC has some role, since the subject would be more the delivery mechanism and not the content, which might include "journalism". Any attempt by a US Government agency to "redefine" journalism would of course be quite inappropriate, don't you agree?
