From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I'm not opposed to discussing how journalism can thrive and survive in the age of the internet. Many stores have found new life with "click and brick" sites. What I am OPPOSED to is the US government's involvement in this issue. I do not see a reason for this anywhere in the US Constitution, and more, it appears to get very close impinging on OUR 1st Amendment rights. The press is and ought to continue to be free from government interference. End the senseless bailouts for everyone! I rather doubt that newspapers and magazines will go the way of the buggy whip, but if that's the future, so be it.
