From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
First of all, I take issue with the phrase: "...organizations are struggling with large debts they took on during better times". This is complete tripe. Said organizations are obviously failing due entirely to bad business decisions, namely allowing their progressive ideology to get in the way of any objective reporting, resulting in the alienation of the moderate majority. Such businesses must be allowed to fail. In point of fact, if they truly wish to survive they need only look to Fox news for guidance on how such objectivity may be achieved. Say what you will about the clearly delineated opinion segments of Fox, their news segments are fair, objective and generally spot on. To say that Fox news survives on populist rhetoric is absolute rubbish, and anyone putting forth such an opinion is either a scoundrel or a complete idiot. Secondly, the FTC has absolutely no business mucking about in the affairs of journalists and their host broadcasting companies. All things concerning "town criers to bloggers" are already succinctly addressed in the Constitution. Any further meddling by politicians and beaurocrats is not only misguided, it is brazenly unconstitutional. This is yet another overreaching power grab by an administration that more resembles Hugo Chavez then an American Presidency, with the ultimate goal being something akin to Pravda in the good old days of the former Soviet Union. Progressives take note: the people are waking up to your evil intentions. Your days in America are numbered like the fingers on the hand of a leper. You are not just a disease, you are a most vile form of stupidity. You are a broken record. You consistently fail to understand that utopia is incompatible with liberty. Further, you wouldn't recognize utopia if it bit you in the ass repeatedly. So say your Godless prayers, for history is about to repeat itself... again.
