From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I am deeply disturbed by the efforts to restrain, censor and limit constitutionally protected free speech on conservative and Christian talk radio as well as on the internet. I reject the use of the "Fairness" Doctrine and FCC regulatory powers such as enforcement of “localism,” “diversity in media ownership” and service of the “local” or “public interest.” I urge you to reject these same measures that will greatly diminish our capacity for honest, valid debate and dispersion of ideas. This is a wholly un-American effort and idea! It is unconscionable for the government to consider regulating content of the internet or any other journalistic outlet. Please note that I will be watching closely and taking action when necessary to directly combat any censorship efforts as well as the liberal bias of the media.
