From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I strongly oppose both the "fairness doctrine" and any government subsidies of media / news organizations. Free Market Principles have served this country well for over 200 years. Let them continue to reward those firms that deliver service, content and value and consumers will ensure that they remain in business. We have more sources of information available now than at any time in our history so government intervention is not necessary and would be a waste of taxpayer money. Furthermore, any use of government funding or regulation to ensure that a particular political viewpoint is promoted is an eggregious abuse of power. Thank you for considering my views.
