From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Shame on the members of the FTC and members of Congress if you proceed to enact a tax of any sort on journalists orjournalism in any form. I would also oppose any attempt by government to initiate any sort of training program for journalists paid for by public funds. Both initiatives will only serve to perpetuate or advance the current strident partisanship in our nation. President Obama has claimed repeatedly that he wishes to initiate bipartisanship. This will be a further attempt to put to the lie to his outreach. Good journalism will survive without interference by government. Bad journalism doesn't deserve to survive. The times, they are a changin' and there's nothing wrong with that. Leave it alone.
