From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
We do not need a journalism division of AmeriCorps, as proposed by Pres. Obama. This would be an added tax burden on the American public. We are paying too much for special projects now. We definitely do not need to have the American public pay into a fund to bailout or "help pay the salary of every journalist." If a journalist cannot do a good enough job of attracting readers and/or listeners so as to make it profitable for persons or companies to support them with ads, then, they need to get retrained and go into another line of work.
