From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The government should NOT use the excuse of supporting print media/journalism as a means for limiting/controlling free speech. Nor should it do so for its misleading stated reasons. Our history has shown that the painful adjustments a free market periodically suffers are vital to the economic health of the nation. Improperly using a tourniquet to staunch the flow of blood from a non-lethal wound causes far more damage and risks patient health in an unnecessary manner. The FTC's intrusion into the free market by inequitably taxing and limiting free speech will neither succeed in its stated nor "hidden" agendas, but it WILL,if approved, do more damage than any mere tourniquet to the patient that is our ailing nation. YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. We will NOT allow this loss to succeed.
