From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Please do not allow the changes you are proposing to take place. We don't need a tax on those who aggregate the news; we don't need a separate category for journalists in AmeriCorps; and we certainly don't need a bailout fund for journalists, paid for by more taxes on electronics. Journalists should be allowed freedom to do well or fail based on their own merits. Give Americans enough credit that they are able to ascertain whether each newscast, internet page or podcast are worthy of their attention.
