From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I would like to express my displeasure with the FTC promoting the notion that the liberal media needs to be bailed out to protect the journalists and journalism in general. This is bogus and unnecessary. Please allow the free market to dictate how news is distributed. The government does not need nor is it constitutionally prescribed to trump up the traditional news organizations that are seeing hard times as of late. We didn't bail out the LP album industry when CDs became popular. No one sent money to watch makers with digital watches dropped the cost of watches. Newspapers and related print media need to move into the 21st century just like other businesses. If they can't compete with the bloggers and internet news agencies already in place, too bad. This is not a job of the government to intrude and have influence over how news is delivered to consumers and the public in general. Thanks you for your attention to this matter.
