From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The FTC should not be involved in journalism in any form. Journalism will always survive whether it is in print or in electronic form. The 1st amendment and the free market will ensure the continuation of journalism. Advertisers will always support venues they feel best reach their potential clients. If the FTC starts siding with only the journalists that it feels are threatened, then there exists the potential for a violation of the 1st amendment. When our government picks and chooses which journalists to help, the potential for partisan abuse exists from either political pary.
