From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
These proposed acts must be abandoned at once. Our guaranteed freedom of speech and freedom of the press are two things that make this country great and allow it to rise above all others. To limit, control and tax these freedoms - freedoms guaranteed in the constitution - will make us no better than China, North Korea, and Cuba;socialist and communist countries we seek to change constantly, where freedom of the press and of speech is monitored and limited. Imposing taxes on free speech and on free press, controlling what information is put out and in what form, and overall limiting our valued first amendment rights would be a major blow to the very foundations of our great country, in an effort to destroy it.
