From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The United States government has no place in regulating or financially supporting the media in any form. If most Americans turn to the internet for their news and information, then it is up to the traditional print and TV media to find a way to compete with the internet. It is not the job of government to bail out print and TV media to keep them competitive. If most Americans get their news from internet news sources that should tell the TV and print journalists something. Stop whining and start reporting the news as it really is--not how you want it to be or what you think the public should know. A free press is the only way to protect our Republic. The FTC should not be in the business of owning a newspaper or TV station.
