From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Greetings from West Virginia. I wish to comment on the FTC Hearings known as "From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?" In my opinion, the government has no role or responsibility to be involved in journalism in any way, and absolutely should not subsidize journalism with taxpayers money. The press should be completely independent, with no possibility of being swayed by either government funding, regulations, or any kind of action. The market will decide if it wants to buy news and opinion from one source or another, and should do so with no interference from anyone. Accordingly, I urge the government to stop all actions regarding journalism. Steve Keiser
