From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Dear Federal Trade Commission ("FTC"): I am writing to let you know that I oppose the 47-page plan for restructuring journalism in the United States. It appears to me that this document is designed to tax journalists and stifle free speech and discussion in our society. I am truly saddened to hear that an administrative agency in our government would even consider implementing a plan that taxes anyone based on their particular ideology. The U.S. Constitution is clear in its guarantee of free speech, and this value lies at the core of who we are as Americans. I strongly urge you to reconsider your proposed regulations for taxing news commentators or anyone based on their particular ideology. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Graham
