From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
You speak about how you will address in your workshops how the media can continue to "thrive and survive" in these tough economic times and I will tell you just how that is possible: by leaving them alone. It is not the business of the government to meddle in any way, shape, form or fashion with the media of this country. I believe the Soviet Union did just that and look where it got the people of that poor country. You have absolutely no right to tell those in the media what they may report, nor does the Constitution provide you any right to tax the people of this nation to pay for the continuance of said media. As per the First Amendment, we are guaranteed free speech. We will not see that right infringed upon!
