From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I am not in favor of this proposed regulation, and I speak as a private citizen. Journalists and/or journalism in general should not be supported by the federal government; nor should the internet be taxed in any way with the idea of supporting print journalism. Journalism should remain a private enterprise, open in the world of ideas in accordance with the U. S. Constitution; the business should stand on its own and succeed -- or fail -- depending upon its business model. Journalism should remain a consumer-driven product .
