From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Dear FTC, I strongly oppose any effort to subsidize and thereby allow government intervention and control of news organizations and other journalism sources. The fact of the matter is that news organizations are struggling to compete with the internet, and so far have been unsuccessful. So be it. This is at the core of America's entrepreneurial values. Bright people will find bright and successful strategies, or businesses will die - happens all the time in America. Government must stay out. Free speech (the First Ammendment) is at stake. I oppose any effort to fund, and thereby exert influence and conrol of the media. Regards, Tom Peterson
