From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I am writing to you with the hope that you will really listen to what an American has to say. Many thousands of men, women and children have died in the founding and building of our nation. It is written very clearly in our constitution that congress shall make no law affecting religion or free speech. My wording is imperfect but you know what I am referring to. Please do not go forward with these plans. If a person does not like a certain media outlet, they may change the channel or boycott all of their outlets. However it is not for government to influence the choices of Americans. We mock North Korea for their leaders power and yet we freely give our freedoms to government? No thank you. I am taxed enough, controlled enough by this Government. Healthcare, banking, housing, and now the media? What happened to By The People For the People? It is now by the govt. For the govt. This is not even a religious thing. If I asked you to create a similar agenda regarding liberal media you would claim freedom of press and speech. Do not these freedoms apply to every citizen of this country? Regardless of political, governmental urges, our free markets and freedom in general should be cherished. Otherwise, the building of this nation was in vain. Progress does not have to mean giving up our value as individuals.
