From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Whether journalism survives the internet age is not the business of government, either by regulation, subsidy or taxation. Allow the free market to determine which forms of journalism survive, and which do not. I am strongly opposed to any action by the government which would place any additional regulatory burden on, or provide any financial subsidy to any form of journalism, be it print, broadcast or online. Any move to tax any such outlets, or to limit their free operation with methods such as the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" are wrong, and must be rejected. Keep the government out, let the people choose where, when and how they obtain their news.
