From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I am opposed to any policy within the proposed 'Reinvention of Journalism' plan that would directly or indirectly diminish the speech of conservative voices, and enhance, through policy decisions, the influence of liberal voices. Such acts on the part of a government agency trample underfoot the flower of free speech. We would say no to taxes, no to a program to fund "home grown" journalists, and no to forcing the public to subsidise the business of journalism. Your agency was not formed to control speech. Please don't think that your charter has changed just because this administration seeks to influence you to change it.
