From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I am opposed to additional taxation or usage taxation on media devices such as the Apple i-pad or Amazon Kindle or other media delivery devices, etc. (I do support the original sales tax levied by states). The Internet should not be taxed. It should represent unrepressed, free thought and ideas. Information providers, and news corporations should, however, have the option of charging for their content. I am opposed to government taking a lead role in the support of journalism through "educational" programs or funding. Educational programs can quickly become indoctrinational programs or propaganda programs with the government (any government) in charge. I support a free press that answers to the people and free market principles.
