From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
With all due respect, it is not your place to reinvent journalism. You are not helping consumers by preventing them from receiving information that they have a constitutional right to hear. The people do not want to bail out a whole group for the second time nor will they allow their TV, radio, or electronics to be taxed to do so. A bailout would give the government way too much control over the media, allowing it to limit what information the people have access to. This would be in direct violation of the first amendment to the constitution. Limitations on free speech and the media are two things associated only with dictatorships, something that the American people will not accept.
