From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
It is ridiculous for the tax payers to extend the life of dying organizations. If people no longer read printed newspapers then let them die. If no one listens to a particular type of radio programs, so be it. No one buys an artists work, maybe they should find another job. If it is not self supporting then the government should not "bail businesses out". This is the way the free enterprise system works. It has served us well for over 200 years. It produces new and exciting things in all areas of our society. Even when those new things doom the old ones. This is call PROGRESS.
