From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Dear Sirs: There is no need for the FTC to involve itself in such a fashion with the radio broadcasting and journalism efforts of the country. Let the market do its job. The programming that consumers enjoy will be rewarded by an appreciative listening or reading audience. It is not government's job to structure things nor is it wise to impose more taxes on the American people or on businesses that are successful. Why would we want to create government journalists that are trained by the government through Americorps or to provide subsidy for the same? Back off and let the American people choose those companies and programs they will support. The unencumbered free market will readily tell who has a viable program, based on the support of the American people.
